Don Ahern addresses HRIA 2014

Queensland, Australia

Ahern Australia was officially launched to the Australian market at the annual HRIA Convention 2014 which took place at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Queensland last week.
Organized by the Hire & Rental Industry Association (HRIA) and named ‘HIRE14’, the show is Australia’s only dedicated event for the rental industry. The three-day event included an exhibition, live equipment demonstrations, a conference, and an awards dinner.

Ahern Australia had a strong presence at the show with two 54sqm stands – one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor stand showcased Snorkel lifts including a S1930E electric slab scissor lift, T46JRT telescopic boom lift, Pop-Up PUSH 10 Pro mini scissor, and the MHP13AT towable boom lift, designed especially for the Australian & New Zealand markets.

The outdoor stand was for machine demonstrations, and it included the Snorkel SL30SL Speed Level and the S3970RT compact rough terrain scissor lift.

In addition to the exhibition, Ahern Australia was well represented in the related events. Don Ahern, owner of Snorkel and Xtreme Manufacturing, helped open the well-attended HRIA Conference as a Keynote speaker on the first day of the show. Along with two other rental professionals, Don shared his wealth of experience on the US rental industry with the audience.

Snorkel was also a Silver sponsor for the convention, which included branding within the delegate bags, on banners around the show, and at the awards dinner.

Matthew Elvin, President of Ahern Australia, said that “HRIA was the perfect launch pad for Ahern Australia. The show is attended by all of our key customers and they were very excited about our future. It was particularly good to have Don here for this very important step in our progress in Australia, especially as he had the opportunity to meet so many of our longstanding customers during the three day event.”
